What sets Missesmyths apart

from other myth retellers?

  • Missesmyths actually read the primary sources (Homeros, Herodotos, Pausanias, Nonnus, Euripides, Aeschylos, Laërtius, Sophokles, Xenophon,…) and doesn’t rely on AI or adaptations.

  • Missesmyths subtly introduces a female POV to the predominantly male world of Greek mythology. Staying away from the clichés, she brings a fresh approach to the well known tales while introducing more obscure ones.

  • Missesmyths connects the dots between antiquity and the present day, ancient beliefs and modern culture, Greek language and common expressions. Discover the fascinating stories behind constellations, Zodiac signs and birthstones!

  • Missesmyths is a published and indie author and has a degree in history and declamation. She researches, scripts and tells her stories herself in 1,5 minute. (The Belgian accent is not by choice).

  • Missesmyths’ stories are not illustrated by AI, but by actual museum pieces: ancient statues, vase paintings, fresco’s and reliefs. As well as classical art and modern collectors items and decoration pieces.

  • Missesmyths sorts her stories according to the time of year and seasonal events, to enhance their relevance. With the “search”-button, you’ll quickly find the god, hero or event you’re looking for.

  • Missesmyths® is a patented trade mark. On this site, only original or public-domain material is used. As for the music, it will either be Chopin (the Brilliant Waltz for the birtshstones) or Dvorak, Missesmyths' favourite composer.
